SUMO STYLE ENTERTAINMENT

OMS students and staff recently celebrated positive behavior at an assembly.  A variety of games and activities were held to congratulate kids for making positive choices including, drawings for prizes, relays (both student and teacher) and recognition.  Students earn tickets from OMS Staff when they are "caught" making positive choices such as helping others or resolving a conflict in a positive way.  The more tickets a student has earned, the more likely the student is to get prizes or  participate in activities.

The assembly's finale came when Associate Principals Kara Powell and Patrick Couture appeared dressed as Sumo Wrestlers and took on Oregon Middle School State Wrestler Gabriel Gonzalez and his partner of choice, Tristan Wishard.  The humorous Ms. Powell and Mr. Couture didn't win one round.

"That was great," noted one teacher.  "I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the staff or the students."
