Class of 1965 Establishes Scholarship Fund

Alumni of the OHS Class of 1965 are pleased to announce the establishment of a Scholarship Fund for Ontario High School Seniors.

The OHS Class of 1965 has established a scholarship fund, which will provide multiple scholarship opportunities to OHS students. The goal of this fund is to assist chosen students in meeting their educational and career goals.

For seniors graduating in 2002, there are two types of awards available

The Ken and Carol Glore Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship will be available to a student pursuing a major that honors teaching, counseling and/or school administration.

The scholarship has been established by the Class of

The OHS Alumni Scholarship

This scholarship is intended to provide support for qualifying students who wish to obtain a college degree.

Grants of up to $5,000. will be made to a student or students who meet the selection criteria. The grant(s) will be renewable up to three additional years contingent upon the recipient meeting certain performance criteria towards their college degree.

The scholarship fund is in the process of acquiring a Charitable Organization status under the IRS 501-C(3) statutes, which will allow contributions to this fund to be tax deductible. Once that has been established, it is the wish and hope of the Class of 65 that other Ontario High School graduates and supporters will contribute toward this scholarship fund, in order to allow other awards to be granted in the future. For further information regarding those opportunities, an interested person can contact class of 65 members Mike Blackaby at 889-8693, or Shirley Vendrell at OHS. Future scholarships and grants will be announced as they become available.
