Alameda Elementary's Children's Theater (ACT) is an after school theater arts program open to 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students.  The program has been a recipient of the Malheur County Cultural Trust grant since 2005.  This year the group was awarded $1,000.  Because of Malheur County Cultural Trust, ACT has been able to purchase costumes, microphones
and cords, sets, props and scripts.  Malheur County Cultural Trust's commitment is to support the arts, heritage and humanities in Malheur County and their support of ACT is a good example of their mission.

ACT's newest play will be performed on April 24 at 6:30 p.m. at Alameda Elementary, Ontario Ore.  Everyone is invited to "We Be Pyrates" written by Ruth Creek. The play is directed by Ruth Creek and Candice Barber and choreographed by Nicole Macht and Meg Soares.  "ACT and all the students involved are very grateful for this grant and the opportunities it brings them," said Creek.
