Hat Day Happenings

The Pioneer Kindergarten class had Hat Day to celebrate the letter H.  The students and teachers wore their favorite hats to school and were even given special permission to wear them inside the school building.  Throughout the day they enjoyed hat activities.

They read "Caps for Sale" and talked about the purposes of hats.  They categorized types of hats by decoration, protection, occupation and fun, and made a graph of all different kinds of hats. Finally, the class decorated their own hat and had the "Academy Awards for Hats" complete with applause and acceptance speeches for categories ranging from "Best B.S.U. Hat" to "Best Invisible Hat!"

Hat Day was a lot of fun and reinforced the concept that hat begins with "H" and makes the sound /h/.
