In reaction to the December 26, 2004 tsunami disaster, the students of Ontario Middle School took action by raising nearly $1,000 in aide for the victims. OMS staff used the donations to purchase medical supplies and general clothing items.

At the January 2005 Mother-Daughter night, hosted by the OPS Parent Center Coordinators, attendees made greeting cards, wreathes, letters and assembled first aid kits for the project. The items for the first aid kits were donated by local businesses and medical clinics. They included necessities such as syringes, gauze pads, Band-Aids, soap, deodorant, sunscreen, and tooth brushes.
