100 Days at Cairo

The four first grade classrooms at Alameda Elementary School observed the 100th day of school on Feb. 4, 2002 by rotating from classroom to classroom and to the multi-purpose center for activities focused on the concept of "100."

Students finished the sentence, "If I had $100, I would ..." and estimated how many objects were in plastic containers (only one container had 100 objects in it). Others counted to 100 by fives and marched 100 tiny steps back to their classroom.

Still others colored pictures of what they would look like when reached 100 years old, and made necklaces of 100 Fruit Loops.
