Linegar to Receive High FFA Honor

Ontario High School FFA advisor and vo-ag instructor Les Linegar has been nominated to receive the Honorary American FFA Degree. The award is given to those who advance agricultural education and the FFA through outstanding personal commitment.

Members of the National FFA Board of Directors approved the nomination. Linegar will travel to Louisville, Ky., in order to receive the honor during an on-stage presentation at the 74th National FFA Convention, held Oct. 24-27. He will receive a certificate and medal.

Linegar has been teaching in Ontario Public Schools for 20 years. He was named the 1996 Ontario Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year and the 1995 Oregon Agriculture Teacher of the Year.

FFA is a national organization of 455,306 members preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture. Its focus is on premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
