Tiger Choir

Year

The choir program at Ontario is focused on developing each singer’s vocal instrument, technique in breath control, freedom of tone production, extension of range, clarity of diction, expressive singing, accurate pitch and choral development. Students will learn more advanced musical and written aural skills and be given the tools to become independent sight-readers. The choir will be introduced to a wide range of styles, languages and historical periods of repertoire, and learn to critically appreciate the historical and cultural context of the music. Students will also learn to think critically, creatively and reflectively, and learn to work effectively as a part of a team. In addition to formal concerts, this choir will also perform in festivals and some and district festivals.
