The advanced Drawing 3 (College Credit Class) drew a segment of a rope as their first project. Each section connects to another student's drawing, symbolizing how each of us connects to our neighbor both in school and the larger community.
Each square paper represents this semester, a finite amount of time (42 class periods, 18 weeks and for many of them, their final semester of high school). How will they use that time? On the back of the drawing, they wrote down their goals, actions needed to accomplish those goals and any fears that might get in the way. At the end of the semester, they will review what they wrote and draw yet another rope symbolizing how they did.
