2019-20 Forecasting

Dear Parents,

It is that time of year again where students will select what classes they may receive for next school year.  OHS does this through the forecasting model. We have many class options for all students and in order to offer what students are interested in, we must go through this process.

We will use the selections that your child makes as data to form our master schedule for the next school year.  While we would love to offer everything listed in our curriculum guide (description of classes), we simply cannot.  We will offer a well rounded schedule of classes for all of our students based on student class selections and needs. Below describes the outline for the forecasting process.

  1. Students received course selection sheets in their English classes on 4/17/19.  These must be completed, signed by a parent, and returned to their English teachers by 4/24/19.

  2. Each 10th, 11th, and 12th grade student must complete a course selection sheet by selecting 18 trimesters of courses as indicated on the course selection sheet.  Note: Selecting a class on the course selection sheet does not guarantee the class will be offered or that your child will get the class.

  3. Each student must select four alternate classes.  Students who fail to select four alternate classes will be required to fill out a new course selection sheet.  Classes may fill up fast and there is limited availability.
