Benefit Information

Ontario School District offers medical, dental, and vision insurance plans to qualifying employees. HSA plans are also available. Supplemental policies include short and long-term disability, accident, cancer, and other plans.
 
Licensed Employees
 
Ontario School District offers a full benefits package for licensed employees working half-time or more. Insurance plans cover your entire family and there is no additional cost to add your spouse or dependent children under age 26. Out-of-pocket cost per month is the difference between the district-paid CAP amount and the total cost of the plan(s) selected. Plan rates vary from year to year. 
 
CAP (amount district pays monthly) for Licensed employees:
2021-2022  -  $1,240 per month
2022-2023  -  $1,260 per month
2023-2024  -  $1,280 per month
2024-2025  -  $1,300 per month
 
Classified Employees
 
Ontario School District offers a full benefit package for classified employees working at least 7.5 hours per day for at least 165 days.  Bus drivers and trip drivers working 4.25 hours per day will qualify for benefits for the duration of the 2021-25 bargaining agreement. Out-of-pocket cost per month is the difference between the district-paid CAP amount and the total cost of the plan(s) selected. Plan rates vary from year to year.
 
CAP (amount district pays monthly) for Classified employees:
2021-2022  -  $1,240 per month
2022-2023  -  $1,260 per month
2023-2024  -  $1,280 per month
2024-2025  -  $1,300 per month
 
Retirement - All Employees
 
All employees employed at least 600 hours per year are members of the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).  Contributions are paid by the district.

OSD currently offers medical insurance to eligible employees through the Oregon Employees Benefits Board (OEBB): Moda Plan 1, Moda Plan 2, Moda Plan 3, Moda Plan 4, Moda Plan 5, Moda Plan 6, and Moda Plan 7

Vision

Paid Family Medical Leave Insurance (PFMLI)

 
Quick Benefit Overview: 
 
Beginning September 2023, 12* weeks per benefit year for any combination of approved leave may be available.
*An additional two weeks of paid leave may be available for complications related to pregnancy childbirth or a related medical condition.
 
Medical Leave: Caring for your serious health condition.
Family Leave:  Bonding with a new child during the first 12 months or caring for a family member with a serious health condition.
Safe Leave: Seeking help related to domestic violence, harassment, sexual assault, or stalking
 
To be eligible, you must have:
  • been continuously employed for 30 calendar days; or
  • been eligible for benefits under your previous Oregon employer’s equivalent plan; and
  • earned at least $1,000 in four out of five quarters before requesting paid leave.
