Fall Still Life
Drawing I students spent several classes before Thanksgiving drawing a fall still life of candy kisses, onions, leaves, and gourds donated by the Trenkel family. The objects were first sketched on colored paper with either chalk or black oil pastel. Students then experimented with coloring using oil pastels, blending colors to create the form and texture of the onions and gourds. The foil on the candy kisses were particularly challenging to color, but the pay off at the end of class was sweet when students got to eat the candy.
